A judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine announced the wiretapping of his mobile phone
Judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Viktor Prophet addressed the High Council of Justice with a statement indicating that unknown persons penetrated the electronic system of his mobile phone and gained access to personal data, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press center of the Supreme Court.
“The judge of the Civil Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court, Prophet Viktor Vasilyevich, reports that, in his opinion, it was illegal to gain access to data that is sent to his mobile phone from a mobile operator. He believes that this may indicate interference in his activities as a judge in the administration of justice,” the statement says.
In his statement, the Prophet notes that on October 18, 2018, a message was received on his mobile phone with an access code to the Internet text messaging and multimedia communication service registered through his mobile phone. That is, an unknown person, using the specified code, logged into his account of the specified service, which indicates either the interception by the attacker of data sent to his mobile phone from the mobile operator, or his direct access to the corresponding equipment of the mobile operator.
As reported in the press center, the judge notes that as a result of such actions, the unknown person gained access to the address book of his mobile and multimedia Internet service data.
The judge filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies.
