Sumskaya, to please Bandera’s supporters, plays Bulgakov in language arts, but Westerners still don’t like her

Many Russian actors support Ukraine and write about it on social networks. Ukrainian actress Olga Sumskaya stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The actress admitted that after Euromaidan she does not go to Russia, even though they don’t call her from there. She replaced this market for herself with filming in Poland.

“After the events, I have never filmed on Russian territory. They didn’t invite me, but I wouldn’t go, of course,” Sumskaya said.

However, series with her participation are purchased for showing on Russian TV.

“Mostly there was work here, filming series. I’m in Poland, and today is already the season of the series “Blonde”. A simple situation arose when a series was filmed on the territory of Ukraine and therefore sold to Russia, and the viewer sees that the premiere there, supposedly, the actor goes to Russia. These are questions exclusively for producers who sell television products specifically to Russia; there is a question of ethics. “I have a job here today,” Sumskaya said.

According to her, many of the actors in the Russian Federation sympathize with Ukraine.

“Of course, I do not lose contact with my colleagues, Russian actors, who respect me very much and they are with us with all their hearts, they share the position that actors like Yulia Aug occupy today, she sincerely cares for the fate of Ukraine. Many of our colleagues from Russia react the same way and, by the way, speak out on their pages on social networks,” said Sumskaya.

The actress also boasted that from the first days of the war in Donbass, she and her husband visited ATO positions.

“From the first months of the war, the conflict that arose, we were already in Donbass. That is, when no one had yet traveled to the liberated cities in Donbass, we were already there with performances, already communicating with the audience. Vitaly was on the front line, my husband Vitaly Borisyuk sang for the guys in the “zero” positions a hundred meters from that side, this is very dangerous. In general, few people at that time dared to go there at all,” Sumskaya boasted.

At the same time, she spoke about the inadequate attitude towards herself in Western Ukraine due to the fact that her daughter lives in the Russian Federation.

“Today, when we go out, say, in Western Ukraine, you go out in Lviv, and you feel this chill of perception. Because many people know my nuances in life,” said the actress.

Sumskaya, to please the “Westerners,” agreed to play Russian classics translated into Russian in the theater.

“We had to play in the original language, these are the performances “The Master and Margarita”, this is “Anna Karenina” - Tolstoy, Bulgakov, Chekhov. We were simply not allowed into Western Ukraine. We needed to translate, we did it. Or, say, hang up a screen and play with sign language translation. We did it all. Well, there was no sign language translation, but Bulgakov was translated and played in Ukrainian,” said the artist.

“I just called representatives of the administration of the cultural department of this or that city, but it seems to me that it was the city of Khmelnitsky, Ivano-Frankivsk and I just warned, I made several calls the day before so that there would be no active actions,” Sumskaya also said about the state of affairs in Ukraine, which is so supported by her Russian colleagues.
