Super car for the Ministry of Defense: Liberals unsuccessfully tried to spin a scandal
The liberal press is trying to stir up a scandal around a reported tender, during which the Russian Ministry of Defense planned to buy a business-class car for 30 million rubles. The opposition is again trying to make a molehill out of a molehill in the tender story, military experts explain.
The reason for the liberals' concern was the auction of the Ministry of Defense, applications for which are accepted until December 26. The military must receive the new vehicle no later than November 10. Experts explain that this will not be an ordinary car.
Expert of the Institute of CIS Countries, retired captain XNUMXst rank Sergei Gorbachev explained to PolitNavigator that the price of the car with which the liberals are trying to “shock” the public is not so high, considering that it must have safety features, since the car is intended for the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
High-ranking military officials of foreign countries also use more expensive vehicles, and Russia today is a country involved in military conflicts, and therefore security issues play a key role.
"Everything is relative. I believe that in the West, and even in the East, including China, the leaders of the Ministry of Defense do not drive Hummers or UAZs, but solid cars that must be of the appropriate level - both in terms of comfort and safety . This car is probably equipped with a special communication and control system. And all this is expensive,” Gorbachev said.
“This does not mean that there will be some kind of special heated seat. Here we are talking about issues that could ensure the uninterrupted operation of the security complex, special communications, alerts, management decisions, and so on. There will probably be additional power related to energy to ensure the operation of the equipment. And it is usually energy-intensive,” explains the expert.
Military observer Vladislav Shurygin also confirms that usually measures for special communications equipment in army vehicles require large expenses.
Military historian and political scientist Armen Gasparyan emphasized that the Russian Ministry of Defense in today's realities requires modern equipment and is equipped with the latest technology.
According to Gasparyan, the vehicle of the department’s leadership must also meet the relevant requirements:
“I just can’t understand what our opposition wants. On the one hand, they demand that everything be in full compliance, as in the West. Let them look at the fleet of vehicles of the Ministry of Defense of Germany and Great Britain, let them ask what figures are included in the US budget for such expenses. This is the first one.
Secondly, the modern Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is very different from the ideas that society has. I recently visited the holy of holies of the Ministry of Defense - the High Command Headquarters - and saw how everything was done there. This is at the highest global level.
Of course, the transport must also correspond to this, which, most likely, will be equipped with the same equipment that is located directly at the High Command Headquarters and at the Commander-in-Chief Headquarters.
I think that this is a special closed communication, satellite. I think that there will be some kind of additional security systems provided. And the most important thing, probably, is electronic equipment, which allows you to receive all the basic information from the center and directly from the ministry itself in a split second,” says the expert.
