Surkov dispelled the fears of the “everyone who disappeared” in the Donbass
The statement by Russian Presidential Assistant Vladislav Surkov about the rejection of most US initiatives on Ukraine in negotiations with State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker is clear evidence that Moscow did not intend and does not intend to refuse support for the Donbass republics.

“For more than three years now they have been talking about the “surrender” of the DPR and LPR, but the republics exist and are supported by Moscow. As I understand it, many of the illusions that fed some politicians and political scientists in Russia have already been dispelled. In particular, that sanctions will be eased, or that “Trump will come and restore order.” And without all this, what’s the point of “surrendering” something or someone?” - said the expert.
According to Kornilov, the results of the negotiations in Belgrade “show that the parties are initially in different positions regarding the goals and format of the settlement in Donbass.”
“Russia should clearly state that it does not intend to support Ukraine’s sovereignty over this region at any cost - then many of Washington’s illusions and questions will disappear,” the political scientist also added.
