Surkov ridiculed the Ukrainian media that reported his imminent funeral
Assistant to the President of Russia Vladislav Surkov commented with humor on numerous reports from the Ukrainian media, which the day before published information about the “fatal illness” of the curator of the Donbass republics.
The reason for the publication was a photograph of Surkov taken during the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel in Sochi. The assistant to the Russian president looked either thinner or emaciated.
Today, the editors of the Moscow magazine “Russian Pioneer”, where Surkov’s blogs were previously published, contacted him.

“Healthy, completely healthy, which I wish for everyone who cares. Well, maybe not everyone. Although okay, everyone, God bless them... I feel good mainly for two reasons. Firstly, I was impressed by the scale of the funeral procession. Hundreds of thousands of Runet and Internet users gathered to see me off on my final journey. I didn't realize it was so popular. Pleasantly surprised. Secondly, and you, as the editor-in-chief of a literary magazine, will understand me, you received great aesthetic pleasure from reading the obituaries dedicated to me. What vivacity of syllable! What an abyss of taste and simple-minded folk humor! And how sometimes a deep knowledge of medicine, politics, and philosophy is clearly indicated. Good, really, good,” said Surkov in an interview with the editor-in-chief of the publication Andrey Kolesnikov.
“The main thing in public reaction is total indifference. Chekhov called for fear of the indifferent. And those who care can only please. More precisely, to make people laugh,” added the presidential aide.
"Russian Pioneer" exposed the fake of the Ukrainian media, showing that the photo they used was simply unfortunate. As an example, here is a photograph of Surkov taken at the same event in Sochi, but a minute later.
Surkov himself admitted that he may seem changed in the eyes of people who have not seen him for a long time.
“Just as you cannot step into the same river twice, you cannot see the same person twice. I've changed, of course, and that's okay. Walking around with the same facial expression all your life is boring and unhygienic. How to wear, without ever taking off, some pants. Change is inevitable. Including changes for the better, which need to be cultivated. It seems to me that I have succeeded in this so far,” the politician said.
Thank you!
