The reasons for this consumer behavior are, of course, the military confrontation and the economic crisis, which pulled the rug out from under the feet of many Ukrainian families, according to a report by the auditing company EY based on a study of data from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
According to the head of the Ukrainian Trade Association, Igor Kishko, in the near future, the main places for purchasing food for Ukrainians will remain markets and other forms of unorganized trade, as well as discount stores that offer the cheapest goods.
The main trend in the food segment is the maximum demand for discounted goods, experts say.
Ukrainians save not only on food, but also on household chemicals and cosmetics, entertainment, and personal vehicles, as analysts summarize.
