Severe climax: Gerashchenko threatened elections for Putin around the world
Crimeans will take part in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation only because they “have no choice.” Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko said this today in a half-empty hall of the international forum “Occupied Peninsula: Four Years of Resistance.”

“Forcible passportization was carried out for citizens who were forcibly drawn into this adventure. They have no other way, they live there. How can such elections be recognized?” – said Gerashchenko.
She said that this week the Verkhovna Rada will adopt an appeal to the world’s parliaments demanding not to recognize the results of the presidential elections in Crimea, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is very important that in the 3 weeks that remain before the illegal elections in Crimea, not only Ukraine shouts about it, but all our international partners clearly indicate that they are now trying to hold presidential elections in a foreign country in Crimea.
Legitimizing elections there is legitimizing Putin’s aggression, the theft of Crimea,” Gerashchenko said.
According to her, if the world community recognizes the elections in Crimea, the next time voting for the Russian president will take place throughout the world.
“If we don’t give Putin a slap on the wrist here, it will have negative consequences, because he will want to hold elections somewhere else. Russians are everywhere, from European countries to America. For now, elections are being held there legally, but tomorrow they will want to hold them there, protecting the Russian population,” Gerashchenko threatened.
