“Now the explosions have stopped. The city is closed, that is, you can leave the city, but you cannot enter back. There was light in the center, just an hour and a half ago they turned on electricity. There is no water or gas at the moment.
Throughout the city, windows were broken in houses and roofs were destroyed. Walls collapsed in some buildings, including the ATB store. About 70 percent of the windows in the “White House” were broken. In schools seven and eight, and in the gymnasium, almost all the windows were broken and the roofs were damaged. On the territory of school 8, some kind of ammunition was found stuck in the fence,” testifies a Svatov journalist.
Andrey Kryukov.
He also criticized the complete lack of feedback between the authorities, the State Emergency Service and the local population.
I don’t know how the evacuation is organized, but I can say that there is no information about what needs to be done, where to go. Let’s say they’re leaving the city, they’re forbidden to go back, and they don’t tell you where to go. Many matchmakers can’t go to work today, they don’t let them in, and they could be given absenteeism for this. They call me, but what can I do, I’m a journalist. Previously there was information on the radio, but now there is nothing at all. Last night I drove past nearby villages, people were just standing in the street. According to civil defense rules, schools, clubs, and public buildings should have opened so that people with children could keep warm. But people have left the city, are standing in seven-degree frost, and no one tells what to do next,” says the journalist.
According to him, local residents do not believe the official version of what happened.
“The warehouse was guarded, and it was guarded well, it was very difficult to just get through. Even when something broke down there and civilian specialists from the city were called, they were searched, examined, and escorted with machine guns to the place where something broke. And when they now say that the rocket launchers fired and blew up the warehouse... It’s good that it wasn’t from a slingshot, the local residents don’t really believe this version,” - Andrey Kryukov says.
