“Overthrow Tymoshenko, take away the entire South-East!”
Russia should not hope for an improvement in relations with Kiev after the presidential elections in Ukraine, where Petro Poroshenko will most likely be replaced by another kind of Maidan activists.
Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Where is the zone of our vital interests? It is everywhere, but, first of all, in the post-Soviet space, and here we again run into Ukraine. Today again the President spoke about Ukraine, about how believers are persecuted, God knows what times, and we cannot move away from this topic.
But I’m afraid that now in some of our corridors of power they are saying the same thing as before, when Poroshenko became president: “A good person, business in Russia, Bogdan, Roshen, we’ll all agree.” Agreed? No!
And now again: “The elections will be held, well, Tymoshenko, gas and kerosene gas, we’ll agree.” None of this will happen! Stop having your head in the clouds! This is our area of interest, we must overthrow this vile government, no matter who is at the head of the state!” - said Bagdasarov.
“And also, realism should suggest: we don’t need the West of Ukraine, let them give up our ancestral territory – the South-East,” the expert added.
