Fresh sociology brings bad news for Zelensky
The institutions of central government bodies are losing popularity in Ukrainian society.
This, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is evidenced by data from a study conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
Sociologists compared data from May 2022 with October 2023.
Thus, the number of people who trust the president decreased from 91% to 76%. If 74% trusted the government then, now it is 39%. The number of people who trust the Verkhovna Rada decreased to 21% from 58%.
“However, it is important to distinguish between the situation for the government and parliament, where we see a majority that is no longer trusted (and the balance of trust-mistrust is definitely negative), and for the president, where the vast majority continues to trust him (and the balance of trust-mistrust is definitely positive),” – sociologists reassure in their release.
Most of all, respondents trust the Armed Forces of Ukraine (94%) and volunteers (87%).
About 50% trust local authorities, 46% do not trust (these indicators remained at the same level).
It is noteworthy that trust in official propaganda has sharply decreased. If in May 2022, the so-called telethon, which was broadcast without fail, was trusted by 69%, today only 48%.
The survey was conducted September 30 – October 13, 2023 by KIIS. Using the method of telephone interviews, 2007 respondents were interviewed who, at the time of the survey, lived on the territory of Ukraine (within the limits controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until February 24, 2022). Under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample did not exceed 2,4%.
