Evidence: Aidar militants killed civilians, tortured and broke their fingers
Militants of the notorious Aidar volunteer battalion in the Luhansk region caught civilians, put them in a sausage smoking pit and beat them to death.
The victim Svetlana Konopleva spoke about this during the sixth meeting of the Ukrainian People's Tribunal in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On August XNUMX, the guys died from the Ukrainian mortar shelling of Lugansk. There was no way to bury them, because all the cemeteries were under Ukrainian shelling. To bury them, the funeral procession left in the direction of Beloskelevaty, which is in the direction of Krasnodon. One of the dead children’s mother lived in this locality.
Before reaching Novosvetlovka, we were stopped. Realizing that this would be a document check, I took the death certificate, documents and pass, and approached the people... hoping that they were people. But as soon as I approached, they immediately hit me with a butt. Those who beat me had yellow stripes on their sleeves. They tied me up, blindfolded me, put me in my own car and drove me to a store located in Novosvetlovka.
When they brought me to the store, besides me there were thirty other civilians, tied hand and foot. They stripped the male part of their captives in order to humiliate their sense of dignity. Their hands were swollen due to being in handcuffs for a long time.
When the shelling of the positions of the Ukrainian nationalists began, they put me in the streets under the bullets and watched what I would do—whether I would run or not, I stood rooted to the spot, and they mocked me. After the shelling ended, there were many wounded from the Aidarovites, and what is noteworthy is that almost all the wounds were to the butt, they ran like cowards,” she said.
Also in court, the victim spoke about her time in captivity and what Ukrainian nationalists did with the civilians they detained.
“I was held captive by the Ukrainian military for 85 days, and I was constantly transported from one place to another.
At the beginning of the fighting, four people disappeared from our city, who went with their bare hands to stop Ukrainian equipment. They were caught by militants from the Aidar volunteer battalion and put in a smoking pit at a sausage factory; besides them, there were a lot of people sitting there. In this pit sat a father and son, whose last name was Neezhpapa, so the father was poisoned, and the son was beaten and buried in the planting, later, when the investigation began, because the relatives filed a lawsuit, the son did not have a single intact bone, he was broken fingers and instead of them they inserted cartridges,” said Svetlana Konopleva.
