Svidomo “scientists” are preparing an official ATO myth - without surnames, to make it easier to use
The war in Donbass has been going on for seven years; Ukraine has still not accepted the official interpretation of the history of the so-called ATO.
Ukrainian historian Vasily Popov stated this on Channel 5, owned by Petro Poroshenko, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now we will already have another year (war in Donbass - approx. ed.), and we still do not have an official history of the Anti-Terrorist Operation. I emphasize once again - official. Next year, I know, two books will be published, but none of them will be the official position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
And we have school textbooks, university textbooks, and a media field. For example, where should journalist Vitaly Gaidukevich get official information about the battles, for example, for Saur-Mogila, when preparing a certain story?” - said Popov.
In his opinion, the official history of the war in Donbass approved in Kyiv should not contain any names.
“This idea was given to me by a highly respected person, I won’t name his name. I would gather a team of authors and write a history of the Anti-Terrorist Operation without names. With positions.
So that no one who comes to the next positions, no one analyzes the actions of the names, but analyzes the position - the chief of the General Staff, the sector commander, the platoon commander,” the historian added.
In his opinion, in these matters, Ukraine should follow the example of the United States, for which history is a tool for achieving goals.
“And here I like the professional motto of the US Army Center for Military History: “We don’t teach history - we teach how to use it,” Popov summed up.
