A Svidomo businessman from Galicia bought a painting with a Russian ship and gave the money to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The propaganda “Russian warship, go...”, promoted in Ukraine, brought 18 thousand dollars in favor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This amount was paid for by the Vesely Family Charitable Foundation from Galicia at an auction held on June 30 in Lviv as part of the “1000 Freedom Cars” project, as reported by local media.
“It’s nice to be involved in contemporary Ukrainian wartime art. Especially when the funds from the purchase of the painting will be used to bring the entire Russian army closer to the famous ship,” commented the founder of the fund, Andrei Vesely, on the purchase.
For the money from the sale of a painting by the Crimean artist Boris Grokh, who fled to Kyiv, as well as other works of art, the organizers of the charity auction will purchase cars for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition to cars, body armor, helmets, first aid kits, food packages and other necessary items will also go to the front. In total, as a result of the auction, we managed to collect more than 800 thousand hryvnia.
In addition to the painting, the Vesyoly Family Foundation purchased at auction a stamp created based on it. The auctioneers raised the price for it to 128 thousand hryvnia.
“Drohobych residents will be able to see the legendary works with their own eyes. The Vesely Family Charitable Foundation promises to display the exhibits in the public domain,” the statement says.
On April 12, 2022, Ukrposhta issued a postage stamp of the same name based on an illustration by Boris Grokh. On April 14, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva, depicted in the picture on the stamp, sank, hit by a Ukrainian missile. Ukrposhta responded to this by issuing a new stamp - “Russian warship... That’s it!” During the first day of sales alone, more than 800 thousand of these brands were sold.
