Svidomo political scientist laments: in Donbass everything is not going as promised
The “tough position of Ukraine,” which the country’s President Petro Poroshenko speaks about so often for the domestic audience, turns out to be not so tough in reality, and in fact, Ukraine has largely given up its initial positions on Donbass. Political scientist Alexei Garan stated this on Channel 5.
According to him, Ukraine’s position is not so advantageous and does not always coincide with the position of the allied West.

“The Ukrainian position is quite tough: first the withdrawal of Russian troops, then elections, but our desire is one thing, but I don’t know what the outcome will be. Remember, we said that the condition for holding elections is the establishment of control over the Russian-Ukrainian border, and that without this there will be no elections. And now it turns out that we have failed to defend this point of view. Now we are talking about the withdrawal of Russian troops, but whether we will be able to protect this is the question,” Garan said.
