The Ukrainian government has again shown activity in terms of national-conscious tyring. Now in the space sphere.

On August 29, the National Bank introduced into circulation a commemorative coin “60th anniversary of the launch of the first Earth satellite.”

Regarding this event, the NBU press service reported: “The coin of the “Ukraine Space” series is dedicated to the launch of the first Earth satellite, which emitted radio waves at two frequencies, which made it possible to study the upper layers of the ionosphere. Radio amateurs around the world followed the sound signals transmitted by the satellite. It could be observed as a star of the first magnitude - even with the naked eye. The launch date of the satellite is considered the beginning of the space age of mankind.”

On the obverse of the coin there is a color stylized image of the planet Earth, and at the bottom there are other state symbols - the coat of arms, denomination, year, logo of the National Bank.

The reverse of the coin features a stylized image of the Earth's satellite and the inscription: 60th anniversary of the launch of the first Earth satellite (in a semicircle on the right).

The 5 hryvnia coin will be released in a circulation of 50 pieces. It is made of nickel silver and weighs 000 grams, its diameter is 16,5 mm.

The whole pathos of this event is aimed at appropriating an all-Union achievement and speculating on it.

A fiction is being introduced that supposedly only Ukraine is a pioneer of the space age. Not the multinational Soviet people, not deeply integrated enterprises from different republics, not multinational representatives of Soviet science, headed by S.P. Korolev.

The true history of the space industry is briefly as follows.

On May 13, 1946, Stalin adopted a decree on the creation of a missile industry in the USSR. A native of Zhitomir, Sergei Korolev, was appointed chief designer of ballistic missiles. Over the next 10 years, scientists developed intercontinental ballistic missiles R-1, R2, R-3, etc.

In 1948, a rocket designer, a native of Vladimir, Mikhail Tikhonravov, in Moscow, gave a report to academic circles about composite rockets and calculations according to which the 1000-kilometer rockets being developed could reach long distances and even launch an artificial Earth satellite into orbit. In 1954, M.K. Tikhonravov and his colleagues proposed their program for space exploration, from the launch of the first satellite, through the creation of manned spacecraft and stations, to landing on the Moon.

In 1955, a Politburo delegation headed by Khrushchev visited the Leningrad Metal Plant, where the construction of the two-stage R-7 rocket was completed. There, Khrushchev signed a decree on the creation and launch of a satellite into earth orbit in the next two years. The design of the satellite began in November 1956, and in September 1957, the “Simple Sputnik-1” was successfully tested on a vibration stand and in a thermal chamber.

The above facts prove the participation of representatives of all republics of the USSR in the creation of an artificial Earth satellite. But for the Kyiv falsifiers of history, this is not an argument.

There is nothing surprising here. Especially after the “postulates” that the ancient Ukrainians dug up the Black Sea, and Prince Shakyamuni was from the village of Buda, Tarashchansky district, Kyiv region. Now the “Svidomo” Munchausens have taken up space. I think it's just berries. And the flowers will be the development of Yuri Gagarin (he is from Kursk, which means he is almost Ukrainian), the same Sergei Korolev and other great scientists, pilots, leaders of Soviet production and science.

But will those in power tell what the re-fabricators in power have become - through their efforts, by the way - those same once largest enterprises, industrial titans that took part in space projects? What have they become during the years of independence?

The answer is short: ruins.

Let's take, for example, the Kiev Arsenal plant. This world-famous state-owned enterprise was a leader in the military, optical-mechanical and optical-electronic industries. It was included in the list of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of the Ukrainian SSR.

Its history dates back to the reign of Catherine II, when in 1764 the “Regulations on the Kyiv Arsenal Command” were published. This year is considered to be the date of the actual establishment of the Kyiv Arsenal. In the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries, he was engaged in the repair and manufacture of various types of weapons, including artillery.

During the Great Patriotic War he was evacuated to the east. To remove factory equipment, 2500 workers, engineering and technical personnel, and office workers, 36 trains (1100 wagons) were used. At the new location, the first section of the plant’s mechanical assembly shop began work three days after the installation of the equipment.

Since 1946, Asenal was repurposed to produce optical instruments for the military industry.

After 1991, the new management of the enterprise aimed at its gradual closure, by reducing government orders, closing workshops, leasing premises, and dismissing employees.

In December 2009, the liquidation of the Arsenal Plant was completed, which was excluded from the state register. Office and banking buildings, an entertainment center and a night club were built on the territory of the plant.

You can also take the famous Yuzhmash as an example. Which also came to an end after the “Maidan of Dignity”, because in recent years all the orders it carried out were mainly from the Russian Federation, so hated by Bankova.

No, of course, in 1957 the Ukrainian SSR - as part of the Soviet Union - took part in the production of the first satellite. All industry of the USSR was firmly integrated and interconnected, all science was Soviet, and none of the scientists - and this was a team headed by Sergei Pavlovich Korolev - separated themselves from other colleagues on a national (and even more so Nazi) basis.

But even if we use the logic of Kyiv, both Kazakhstan, on whose territory Baikonur is located, and even more so Russia, have no less, but more rights to boast about this project.

And one more thing. Regarding the joy of radio amateurs around the world, which is mentioned in the NBU message.

The famous writer Ray Bradbury was also delighted with the flight of the satellite. Here is his review:

“That night, when Sputnik first traced the sky, I... looked up and thought about the predetermination of the future. After all, that little light, rapidly moving from one end to the other of the sky, was the future of all humanity. I knew that although the Russians are wonderful in their endeavors, we will soon follow them and take their proper place in the sky... I blessed the Russians for their daring...”

It may be strange, but for some reason there is not a word about Ukraine here.
