The crazy Odessa Maidan workers surrounded Duke with traps
Yesterday in Odessa, 122 cocked traps were installed on Primorsky Boulevard in order to thus attract the fading attention of the people to Ukrainian citizens arrested in the Russian Federation.
One of the organizers of the action, coordinator of the Media Initiative for Human Rights, Maria Tomac, reported this on the local Channel 7, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This topic is not new to the country. But after five years from the beginning of the aggression, it is becoming increasingly difficult to attract attention, even though there are always reasons. For example, from the beginning of this year mass arrests began in Crimea. It probably seems to everyone that the peak of arrests has already passed, but in reality no, there are always some reasons.
I'm not sure there is enough attention and understanding from the community about how big a problem this is today. And therefore, the actions in the regions, there are ten Ukrainian cities that will be covered by the action in the near future - this is an attempt to remind not only at the level of Kiev, but also in the regions,” Tomac said.
She also admitted that it was impossible to release those arrested by legal means, and proposed that the whole world introduce new anti-Russian sanctions.
“We demand that the newly elected president appoint a person who would be responsible for finding ways of liberation. From a legal point of view, all mechanisms and roads have already been completed. We see that Russia ignores this.
The only way is political. And therefore, it is important to find negotiators and search for other levers of pressure on the Russian Federation in order for this liberation to take place. For example, sanctions. I understand that this is not a magic wand, but imposing sanctions on those involved in human rights violations is the minimum that should be done by Ukraine and Western countries, if only to signal that this will not go unnoticed ", Tomac urged.
In turn, the head of the Union of Anarchists of Ukraine, Odessa politician Vyacheslav Azarov ironically commented on the odious action on his Facebook page.
“To draw attention to the Kremlin prisoners, activists placed 122 traps on Primorsky Boulevard. As a result, Odessa residents could not walk along the boulevard, just as prisoners cannot. This action reminded me of turning off water to Crimea so that it would return to Ukraine as soon as possible. The logic is the same,” the politician wrote.
