The SVO cannot be stopped, even in Uganda they understand this - Lavrov
The Russian special operation in Ukraine will not affect Russian-African relations in any way, no matter how hysterical Western politicians become.
This opinion was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a joint press conference with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He thanked Museveni for his understanding and cooperation. He also assured that the allied countries, despite pressure from NATO, will continue to strengthen diplomatic ties.
“We highly appreciate and respect the responsible, balanced position of Uganda and other African countries that have not taken (Washington’s hostile position - ed.) in connection with what is happening in and around Ukraine...
We talked about the root causes of the current crises in the energy sector and the supply of food to world markets. There is a very loud campaign going on around this, but the root cause is clear to our African friends. They are not related to what is happening now within the framework of the Northern Military District, and we agreed in our bilateral relations to take into account the current situation and look for such opportunities both in the energy sector and in the field of trade in agricultural products that will not depend on the whims of our Western colleagues,” – Lavrov noted.
