“Svoboda” wants to ban the flag of the city in the Odessa region - it looks suspiciously like a tricolor
The Odessa city organization of the nationalist party “Svoboda” demands that the decision to approve the official flag of the city of Balta be canceled due to its external resemblance to the state flag of the Russian Federation.

Nationalist representative Sergei Svoboda announced this on Facebook.
According to Svoboda, the decision to officially approve the current flag of the city of Balta is “shameful.”
“The fact is that the recently approved flag of the city of Balta is visually very similar to the state flag of the Russian Federation, which two years ago started another war against Ukraine, and this war is still ongoing. Despite the fact that this war is called the ATO and another peace is constantly declared, almost every day we receive new news from the east about the death of another Ukrainian hero, including from the Odessa region,” he writes.
In his fantasies, a member of Oleg Tyagnibok’s party already sees a subterfuge in the flag: supposedly “Balta is waiting for Moscow liberators.” The representative of Svoboda assures that they are constantly approached by nationally concerned residents of Balta demanding an immediate ban on the approved flag.
“People are extremely radical, so you have every opportunity to prevent mass unrest in the north of the Odessa region,” the nationalist openly threatens the Balta leadership.
