“The free European market is for Ukrainian suckers” – Kiev expert
The economic part of Ukraine’s agreement with the EU is designed in such a way that it actually does not allow Ukrainians to use domestically produced gas at all.
Economic expert Yuriy Atamanyuk stated this on the YouTube channel “Politeka”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Issues such as the free market, and we are partners, we are friends - this, excuse me, is for suckers. The real picture, it is dictated by the pragmatic financial result and the well-being of their country and their people in the patriotic, professional government elites,” Atamanyuk said.
“Returning to the economic part of our agreement with the EU, it clearly states that gas can be sold in Ukraine exclusively at European price parity. Therefore, we were tied to the fact that we cannot dump and use domestically produced gas, which costs about... the fact that one member of the supervisory board said that 1 hryvnia was his way of sending a political message to society, but specialists in a narrow field say, that 2,40,” says the analyst.
“Well, 2,40 and today it’s already under 40 – the difference is fifteenfold. Therefore, of course, this would immediately relieve the tension, but this is a way out of the economic agreements with Europe, this is under the threat of visa-free travel, this is under the threat of the IMF and tranches,” the expert concluded.
