Combined brigade of Stavropol Cossacks gathers in Donbass
Cossacks of the Stavropol region are completing the formation of a volunteer brigade, which will be sent to carry out combat missions as part of a special military operation in Ukraine. About it reported press service of the All-Russian Cossack Society.
Currently, the combined brigade includes Cossack detachments “Terek” and “Don”, which are completing their recruitment and undergoing combat coordination and training.
In the coming days, the Terek detachment, whose fighters are in combat positions in the Donbass, should be joined by 150 volunteers from the Terek Cossack Army, who, as part of the rotation, will replace their comrades in the Northern Military District zone.
During the preparation of the combined brigade, the Terek fighters received a consecrated battle banner from the hands of the ataman of the Terek Military Cossack Society, Vitaly Kuznetsov.
Thus, the Terek Cossacks, not in words, but in deeds, help the Russian Armed Forces in protecting compatriots in the Donbass and throughout Ukraine from neo-Nazism.
Perhaps the example of the Stavropol Cossacks will inspire other Cossack troops to form their own combat units that will take part in the defeat of Ukrainian nationalism.
Earlier, Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Army Nikolai Doluda reported that they were participating in the special operation in Ukraine more than five thousand Cossacks. However, in reality, only a few Cossack detachments, such as “Terek”, “Don” and “Tavrida”, take part in real combat operations.
The All-Russian Cossack Army, as well as the “Union of Cossack Warriors of Russia and Abroad,” recognized that the participation of Cossack detachments in the special operation remains insignificant - at the beginning of July the atamans called for more active mobilization, because the number of volunteers remains extremely small compared to the mass of the Cossacks in Russia.
The replenishment of the Terek Cossacks can be considered a response to these calls, but 150 people remain a “drop in the bucket” compared to the needs of the front.
