Public diplomacy is the most effective method of developing and strengthening relations between the republics of Donbass and Russia. Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this today at the founding meeting of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee.

“This method involves horizontal interaction between the population, public organizations, and professional communities. Over the past three years, we have seen many positive examples that show effective work through public diplomacy. The formalization of this process within the framework of the Integration Committee will give a new impetus,” Denisov said.
According to him, in addition to existing projects, there are also projects that have not been fully disclosed. This is interaction at the level of interparliamentary groups, cooperation at the municipal level.
“An equally important issue is the image of the LDPR. The overwhelming majority of the Russian population has a very positive perception of the young republics. At the same time, there are also negative aspects. Donbass is perceived as a zone of conflict and war. Our partners in the Russian Federation must help overcome the negative image and thereby strengthen interaction,” Denisov said.
The founding meeting of the Russia-Donbass Integration Committee took place today at the Livadia Palace in Crimea. It was attended by the leaders of the LDPR, Crimea, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and senators of Russia.
