About it he said in an interview with the Ukrainian publication Glavkom.
“A deputy is a representative of the people, he is entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities. MPs have access to decisions that ultimately cost the country billions. And at the same time they receive 5-6 thousand hryvnia,” Poroshenko Jr. said.
He noted that it is more important to raise the salaries of civil servants, “because they really run the state and the best specialists should be encouraged to fill these positions.”
“I see that decent people don’t want to go into government service because they won’t have anything to live on. They should probably be given more compensation. Therefore, there must be a market salary that would correspond to the level of responsibilities,” says Poroshenko’s son.
In his opinion, for example, the salary of the head of a department should be several thousand dollars. “But the salary still should not differ significantly. 20, 30%, but not 20-30 times,” he added.
