Russian communists, as the date of the September elections approached, decided to “saddle” the protest agenda in Moscow and also go to a rally in the Russian capital.

According to the police, about four thousand people came out to the authorized rally on Sakharov Avenue today (although the number visually looks much more modest in drone footage), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There was a rally that was more liberal, today it is more left-wing, communist - it doesn’t matter, ideally we need to move towards a single organizing committee, as was the case in 2012, to act together. We are very different, but today the tactical task is to achieve compliance with at least those bourgeois rights and freedoms that are spelled out in the Constitution, they are not respected today, they are trampled on at every step,” said Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the “Left Front”.

He noted that there is no need to boycott the elections, but to come and vote, preferably for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and then, according to him, they will get along with both liberals and nationalists.

“There are already separate calls for a boycott of the September 8 elections. From an emotional point of view, I understand these calls: people were not registered, they are outraged, they believe that the elections are dishonest. In many ways this is true, but today we need to be more cunning, wiser than this government and not take such emotional steps.

We, of course, believe that it is right to vote for the team of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, left-wing patriotic forces, they exist in almost all regions, they also create obstacles, but we must vote. These people, we, will always find a common language later with both liberals and nationalists, we will create public councils both under the Moscow City Duma and under other parliaments. This will be the right tactic,” Udaltsov urged.

The head of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, on the contrary, in his speech declared an irreconcilable position towards US puppets.

“We don't need puppeteers from the American Congress. We don’t need well-wishers who again promise us that criminal capitalism will save us if one group of thieves is replaced by another gang of sycophants. I am absolutely sure that our country and people have the will, we, at one time, kicked out the Horde, splitting them on the Kulikovo field, today the worst thing is the Horde - this is the Russian oligarchy. We all vote for people’s deputies, for deputies from the Communist Party and the Bloc of State-Patriotic Forces,” he noted.

Unexpectedly for everyone, Russian musician Igor Talkov Jr. appeared on stage, although his father, as you know, criticized the CPSU during Perestroika.

“Yes, imagine, fate is not without irony: my father allegedly fought against the communists, and today I stand with them on the same stage. But my father did not fight against the communists, he fought against the partyocracy that reigns in our country today, which needs to be saved urgently, because we are under occupation, everyone knows this, and the only way we can raise our country is if everyone starts on their own a place to live according to conscience and law.

Today we are forced to live by the law, but our ancestors lived by the law, in accordance with the harmony of the universe and with each other. I would like to sing you a song called “United People,” may I?” - Talkov spoke and began to sing.

It is interesting that among those who spoke at the Communist Party of the Russian Federation rally today was another representative of the “bulkokhrust” camp - Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin.

Liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky considers today's action of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation a failure - a week ago, at the same place, the liberals were able to gather 10 times more protesters.

“The Communist Party of the Russian Federation urgently needs a change in leadership. The optimal candidate for the post of chairman is Andrey Klychkov. Now he is the governor of the Oryol region. However, 75-year-old Gennady Zyuganov will promote anyone, including his grandson Leonid, as long as Klychkov doesn’t,” the political scientist noted.
