It is noted that a balaclava and a 9 mm “Retay” starting pistol with cartridges were confiscated from the detainee. A little later, the second robber was arrested.
It soon became known that one of the detainees was the son of Igor Popov, the former head of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, a deputy from the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko.
“There is trouble in my family. My 14-year-old son fell into bad company and committed a serious offense. It’s my fault that I didn’t spend enough time on upbringing, I didn’t pay enough attention, I didn’t warn. I apologize to the victims, to society, to my family, to my best team. Thank God everyone is alive, the investigation will take place, the perpetrators will be held accountable without exception, let this be a lesson to both my son and me.
Please do not connect my grief with politics or with someone’s intrigues. If it weren't for my publicity, I would have grieved in silence. Friends will provide moral support, I ask the press not to savor any details. I will disappear from the air for a while and spend time with my family,” Popov wrote on his Facebook page.
