His lawyer Nikolai Polozov wrote about this on his Twitter page.

“On September 30, the Sovetsky District Court of Astrakhan will consider the defense petition of Khaiser Dzhemilev for parole,” wrote Nikolai Polozov.

Let us recall that on April 28, 2016, the Russian court refused to satisfy the defense’s request for the parole of Khaiser Dzhemilev. The Supreme Court of Russia reduced the 5-year sentence of Khaiser Dzhemilev, determined by the Krasnodar Regional Court, by one and a half years. The Russian sentence is three months less than the one set by the Dnieper Court of Kyiv in April 2015 – 3 years and 8 months.

Hayser Dzhemilev was accused of killing worker Fevzi Edemov with his father’s gun in the courtyard of his house in Bakhchisaray in May 2013. After the annexation of Crimea, Russian investigative authorities decided to investigate his case again. Hayser was taken from the Simferopol pre-trial detention center to the Krasnodar region.
