Tobacco company Philip Morris in Ukraine ended 2016 with a billion-dollar loss
At the end of 2016, the Philip Morris company in Ukraine operated at a loss, which amounted to UAH 1,082 billion.

“At the end of 2016, the assets of Philip Morris Ukraine amounted to UAH 7,9 billion, current liabilities - UAH 6,88 billion. At the same time, in 2015, the company’s net profit was UAH 5,44 million,” the publication says.
Philip Morris International entered the Ukrainian market in 1994. The company currently operates a factory in Kharkov, where a number of local and international brands are produced for both Ukrainian and foreign markets. Philip Morris is represented in Ukraine by two legal entities – Philip Morris Ukraine PrJSC and Philip Morris Sales and Distribution LLC, which collectively employ over 1,3 thousand employees. The company's main brands are Parliament, Marlboro, L&M, Chesterfield, Bond Street, IQOS.
PrJSC Philip Morris Ukraine is a leading player in the Ukrainian tobacco market and one of the largest taxpayers to the state and local budgets. The total amount of taxes paid in 2015 amounted to UAH 8,9 billion.
