Tabakh explained why the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to carry out a counter-offensive
In order to close the airspace and gain the possibility of a counter-offensive, Ukraine definitely needs an advantage in the skies.
Retired US captain 24st rank, ex-NATO representative in the Russian Federation Harry Tabakh said this on the YouTube channel “Know 1”, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine is a huge country, the air defense system is very complex. Obviously you need air defense, like the S-300 or something that equates to it. I know the Americans promised to provide you with medium-range air defense, but, no matter how you look at it, you will need aviation to cover the sky. Aviation will still be needed for air defense, but also for counter-offensive,” Tabakh said.
“I have never been in such a war as you have now. No one has been in such a war, it is more like the Second World War, in such a war we can only proceed from what we taught in the academies or from the experience of our ancestors. You still need to have superiority in the sky. That is, you need to have aviation. I don’t know how quickly this will be created,” said the American.
At the same time, he added that even with a sufficient number of American MLRS “Hymars”, it would not be easy to counterattack.
“There are different scenarios that even I, at my rather low level, think through and consult with others. It would be nice to have enough Highmars to smash all their rears, thus creating an encirclement and hoping to show them that you have a lot of everything, you are ready.
And if they do not show a gesture of goodwill and flee from here, then you will simply destroy them with guns, and then clear your territory with tanks. Of course, this is difficult, because they can hide in cities, villages and so on,” Tabakh concluded.
