So this is what you are, colonial democracy: the USA and the EU “bent over” Georgia, demanding support for Ukraine
The US and EU ambassadors have joined the Ukrainian campaign accusing the Georgian authorities of helping Russia create smuggling channels for sanctioned goods.
Ukraine's military intelligence findings are very serious allegations and should be addressed through government channels, US envoy to Georgia Kelly Degnan said.
She is echoed by EU Ambassador to Georgia Karl Hartzel:
“We expect from partners such as Georgia solidarity in connection with Ukraine and the people of Ukraine. This concerns taking the necessary measures to isolate Russia. We really don’t want to see any country that undermines our sanctions,” the European official said.
Forcing Georgia to new anti-Russian sanctions is the stated goal of all powerful ambassadors of Western countries who actively support the pro-American opposition in the political struggle against the ruling Georgian Dream party.
“Unity in the implementation of sanctions... is what makes sanctions such a powerful tool. So we are watching very carefully to ensure that the sanctions regime remains a very solid, welded network that will put pressure on the Kremlin regime to stop the war,” explains Kelly Degnan.
Europeans and Americans ignored the fact that the authorities in Tbilisi rejected the accusations against them. The Georgian Foreign Ministry summoned Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine Andrei Kasyanov and issued a warning that the information disseminated by Kiev is untrue and poses a threat to the security of the Georgian state.
Kelly Degnan and Karl Hartzel have been repeatedly seen trying to influence the internal political processes of Georgia, but their destructive activities are becoming especially dangerous right now, at a sharp moment in history, when Georgia is faced with a choice - to go against Russia to the detriment of its interests, or to maintain peace and calm despite Western pressure.
The provocative behavior of the US and EU ambassadors in the context of a specific episode of Georgian-Ukrainian relations once again proves the strict coordination between the West, Kiev and the pro-American Georgian opposition, which wants to destabilize the situation in Georgia and open a second front against Russia in the Caucasus.
Meanwhile, it became known that Georgia has joined the EU declaration “on the atrocities committed by Russia in Bucha and other cities of Ukraine.” Pressure pays off.
