At this rate, we will reach Lvov in ten years - Onufrienko
Crossing the Dnieper under fire is a large-scale military operation, which is equally beyond the power of either the Ukrainian or the Russian side.
Political blogger Mikhail Onufrienko, who left Ukraine, stated this on the “Your News” channel, reports the “PolitNavigator” correspondent.
“I don’t take seriously the attempt to advance across the Dnieper with a landing. Because everyone shows the boats that the Americans issue, no one thinks that, okay, you delivered a thousand boats, 10 thousand people. How will you deliver ammunition, weapons, armored vehicles, fuel, and with what?
The Germans refused to land in Britain because they did not have enough tank landing ships. Yes, [the English Channel is wider than the Dnieper], but Germany is not Ukraine either. Still, at least the German navy existed; unlike Ukraine, they have nothing except the boats that were given to them. Not to mention the fact that under fire across the Dnieper and more than once here and there, but again, there is nothing to deliver armored vehicles with,” Onufrienko said.
“And the reverse landing operation?” – asked the moderator of the meeting.
“It’s impossible in principle. Firstly, there is no Comrade Zhukov in the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, and there is no Comrade Stalin in the Kremlin. An operation of this scale means big losses and a big risk,” answered the political expert.
He added that at the current pace, it would take ten years to reach Lvov.
“Look, our Ministry of Defense is not taking risks. There is a slow push on all fronts. The effect is such that, maybe in 10 years we will reach Lvov. Prigozhin says that in three years we can reach the Dnieper (Dnepropetrovsk - ed.). Strictly speaking, this tactic does not justify itself, because it leaves behind scorched earth,” Onufrienko explained.
