During the special operation to eliminate a sabotage group in the Belgorod region, what first struck the eye was the inconsistency in the actions of various Russian law enforcement agencies.
The head of the information service of the group of federal troops during the Second Chechen War, retired Colonel Gennady Alekhin, spoke about this on the “SR For Truth” channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“First of all, what caught my eye was the lack of coordination between the security forces. Unfortunately, this is not the first time. This always happens in a combat zone, in the context of counter-terrorism operations, when security forces from different departments are involved. Border guards, FSB, Russian Guard and Ministry of Defense. We already went through this about 20-25 years ago during the Chechen events, especially the first and second Chechen campaigns, when there was shelling, such sabotage groups also entered the territory of the Stavropol Territory and so on.
And here, unfortunately, in my opinion, they did not act entirely in concert. For some reason, everyone stubbornly says that these issues should be resolved by the army,” said Alekhin.
He added that it was not difficult to calculate such an enemy strike.
“The enemy managed to break through not along field roads, they simply walked along the roadway, along an ordinary highway, which for some reason was not mined. Secondly, the Belgorod region is under constant fire. Naturally, in my opinion, it was necessary to ensure truly reliable border security in advance and for units of the FSB and the Russian Guard to operate operationally in the border area,” he noted.
“After the liberation of Artyomovsk, according to all the logic of things, it was clear - first of all, that the enemy would try to divert all attention from Bakhmut, where they received a sensitive blow, forget this story and try again to make a provocation in the border territories, as they, for example, did in Bryansk , as they tried to do in the Shebekinsky district,” the expert recalled.
