This has never happened before: A false State Duma deputy from Ukraine was caught in Crimea
Police in Crimea detained a man who posed as State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek and collected money from entrepreneurs.
This was reported by the press service of the current parliamentarian Balbec.
“Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea detained an attacker who, on my behalf, throughout 2020, addressed citizens, mainly entrepreneurs, and asked for money for supposedly good purposes. I told some that it was for my family, others that it was for charity, and others that it was for important projects. But in the end he deceived everyone!
To make his selfish goals more credible, he even sent out fake forms to my reception office, allegedly certified by my signature. He called entrepreneurs and persuaded them to transfer money to bank accounts previously opened for them. I decided to take advantage of my reputation for personal gain. Perhaps he was planning to discredit my name in general.
The attacker operated from the territory of Ukraine; he was detained upon entering the peninsula. And in Crimea he was “helped” by his accomplices.
Now employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan have opened a criminal case against this newly-minted “philanthropist” on the grounds of a crime under Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). The case is under control in the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” writes Balbec.
