“Tambov Wolf” and five accomplices: An underground casino was “covered” in Evpatoria
In Yevpatoria, the investigation into the case of an illegal online casino has been completed. Its organizer from the Tambov region and his five accomplices will sit in the dock, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
An underground gambling hall in Yevpatoria was opened in July 2020. The entrance to the casino was disguised as a consumer society of participants' shares. The activities were carried out in secrecy until August 2021, when law enforcement officers visited the illegal gambling hall.
“During the searches, computer equipment was seized, with the help of which the employees of the gaming hall supported their illegal activities, as well as funds,” the Investigative Committee for Crimea and Sevastopol reported.
Six members of the organized group were detained. They are accused of illegally organizing and conducting gambling via the Internet, committed by an organized group.
They are accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for illegal organization and conduct of gambling. They face up to 1,5 million rubles in fines and up to 6 years in prison.
