The Ataki customs point - Mogilev-Podolsky was blocked again, this time on the Ukrainian side
Chisinau, July 29 (Navigator, Petr Alekseev) – The Ataki-Mogilev-Podolsky customs checkpoint between Moldova and Ukraine was blocked all day the day before by protesters from the Ukrainian side. Residents of Mogilev-Podolsk came out to rally after the news of the death of four border guards from the local border detachment sent to the anti-terrorist operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

According to kommersant.md, several dozen people blocked the post and demanded that the authorities return to their homeland all those who were sent from here to the combat zone in the east. According to them, they decided to block customs to attract attention, since the authorities had previously ignored their demands.
The head of the Mogilev-Podolsky district council, Vladimir Sirant, tried to calm the protesters, who believes that the blockade of the checkpoint is the wrong step, since it “can only worsen relations between Ukraine and Moldova.” However, the protesters promised to stand until their demands were met.
According to the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, due to the situation at the Ataki-Mogilev-Podolsky checkpoint, all transport is redirected to the Ocnita-Sokiriani customs point. You can cross the border on foot. It is still unknown when the current situation will be resolved.
The same checkpoint was blocked two days ago from the Moldovan side - local residents rallied here, demanding that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova denounce the association agreement with the European Union, not create a free trade zone with the EU, but join the Customs Union.
