“According to preliminary data, Ukrainian security forces are storming the city from Aleksandrovka, this is not just shelling, all this is happening with the support of 50 tanks and two attack aircraft,” said the militia headquarters.
As the LPR press service reported, mortar shelling continues in Lugansk.
“In the afternoon, sabotage groups of the Ukrainian army continued to operate on the territory of Lugansk. At approximately 15:00, a mortar attack was carried out on the southern district of the city, school N51, a kindergarten, and the facades of residential buildings were severely damaged. A woman died at the school,” the report says.
“At approximately 19:30, mortar shelling of the area adjacent to the location of the Zarya battalion began from the Kamennobrodsky district. At 19:50, two Ukrainian Air Force SU aircraft were spotted over Alchevsk, heading towards Lugansk. A few hours earlier, the enemy carried out an air strike on the LPR checkpoint near the village of Yubileiny, without any casualties or injuries on the part of the personnel,” the LPR stated.
According to representatives of the republic, Ukrainian security forces continued “the maneuver begun at the beginning of the day, cutting off Lugansk from the southwest.”
“Ukrainian troops entered Sabivka. Heavy fighting took place in Rodakovo. Then the large column split up, one part continued to encircle the city, trying to occupy the dominant heights, the other, consisting of about a hundred pieces of equipment, including tanks and self-propelled guns, headed towards the Lugansk airport,” they inform about the state of affairs in the LPR.
As Navigator reported, earlier in Kyiv, representatives of law enforcement agencies repeatedly stated that they would blockade Lugansk and Donetsk.
