There is a fresh scandal in Ukraine - the main patriot and part-time investor in the Russian economy, Petro Poroshenko, received a surprise visit - a video from a club party in London with the participation of the youngest son of the ex-president Mikhail appeared on the Internet. The headliner of the party, Russian rapper Face, lifts Junior Poroshenko onto the stage and gives him a microphone so that he shouts “Russians in London” and continues the fun with crazy dancing.
“So what?” - you will say, and you will be wrong. Very “sho”. In principle, in any other situation it would be a personal matter for Misha Poroshenko, who to consider himself - be it Russian or Chukchi. But only without having a father who sells his face in the role of such a cool Ukrainian and Russophobe that there is nowhere cooler and more Russophobic. So, no matter how you look at it, the situation obliges the ex-president’s household to, as they say, “keep in style”: the children are supposed to drink “Shchedryk” with blank faces, and his wife Marina is to put on a designer embroidered shirt from Gucci and quote excerpts from school that accidentally linger in memory. programs on Ukrainian poetic classics.
After all, if you think about it, what happened? While dad was squeezing out a stingy man’s tear over car tires on Institutskaya Street in Kiev, mourning the “heroes of the heavenly hundred,” the son was swaggering and having a blast at a Russian party in an expensive elite club in London in the company of socially close children of rich Russians and openly called himself Russian. Those who, according to the speeches of his dad, are “continuous aggressors and occupiers.” Even the most frostbitten gunsmiths will find it difficult to explain to Pyotr Alekseevich’s devoted flock that everything is okay and there’s nothing to worry about. Like, well, it doesn’t happen to anyone - as long as you’re sober, you’re a patriot of Ukraine; when you get drunk, you’re already Russian.
For Poroshenko, what happened, of course, is a blow below the belt. And at the same time, a problem for political strategists - it will no longer be possible to pull a client out of the water dry, but how to prevent him from getting wet to the skin? His voters forgive him everything: theft and offshore companies and the factory in Lipetsk, but “Russian son Misha” is too much even for those who are accustomed to giving Pyotr Alekseevich his eight percent for everything and in bulk.
As the pique vests of Kyiv politics say, Poroshenko gave his son a formal interrogation about the scandalous party and harshly demanded that he delete all the videos from the Face concert for fear that if you dig deeper, something even more unpleasant might emerge.
But we still need to make sure that none of the many friends and simply witnesses to the prank in the London club have any incriminating evidence. The opponents who promoted this story will not let the scandal fade away until they squeeze all possible dividends out of it - so Poroshenko will not be able to ignore what happened for long.
The first to leak the ill-fated recording onto the Internet was the ex-president’s long-time public enemy, former “Plusov” journalist, and now people’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” Alexander Dubinsky. It was with his light hand that the recording spread across the media with lightning speed. Some have already called this an asymmetrical “response” from the presidential camp for the activity on social networks of the Porokhobot LOMs, who in recent days have been actively dispersing anti-government temniks on the situation around Novi Sanzhary.
It’s interesting that Mikhail Poroshenko has put my dad in an awkward position more than once. However, in Mikhail’s defense, the following must be said: where could he have studied if not on camera in the Poroshenko family they always spoke exclusively Russian? It’s not the guy’s fault that he doesn’t understand: “son of the president” is also a responsible job. Even if this president is an “ex” and such a disgusting hypocrite as Pyotr Alekseevich.
At the same time, there is reason to believe that Poroshenko’s son is much morally healthier than his father, and despite the money and having greater opportunities than the bulk of his peers, he is not much different in his aspirations from most of them.
As Telegram channels write with reference to Poroshenko’s inner circle, Misha “in personal conversations says that he doesn’t want to live in Ukraine, he loves London very much and wants to stay in Europe or go to the USA.” Poroshenko Jr. also loves Russian bloggers and rappers, watches Russian films, does not like talking about politics, and the sacred topic for any Ukrainian patriot is “whose Crimea?” does not bring it up in conversations with his friends from the CIS.
By and large, this story is an excellent litmus test for the sincerity of the ostentatious patriotism of not only Poroshenko, but the entire Ukrainian elite. Which, with one hand, passes discriminatory laws against education in Russian, and with the other, sends its children to private elite Russian-language gymnasiums in Kyiv or to English-language colleges abroad.
