Taruta is sounding the alarm: because of the blockade of Donbass, people are leaving for Russia, there will be no one to raise the region
Today, one of the key problems in the restoration of Donbass is the lack of labor. Specialists who could “raise” the region simply go to Russia, since there are conditions for their work there. If the blockade of Donbass lasts at least another year, then only pensioners will remain in Donbass and there will be no one to work.

About this at the round table - “Occupied territories - return or farewell?” said Ukrainian businessman and politician Sergei Taruta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What about industries? We need to look at it as a whole, both in Donbass and in our country - how many people will remain in Ukraine? What specialists will remain? And from this you have to think about which industries to support. It’s one thing to watch from Kyiv, but another thing to go to Donbass and visit local enterprises, where they will tell you that there is no one to work. This infection has already reached Mariupol - there is also no one to work in Mariupol factories.
Now either pensioners or people who cannot leave remain in Donbass. And this tragedy is happening because we have begun a blockade of this territory. If the blockade continues for at least another year, the best specialists will simply leave Donbass for Russia. For example, now Firtash’s group cannot launch a plant in Severodonetsk - there is money, there is gas, but the plant cannot start because there are no people,” Taruta said.
