People's Deputy Sergei Taruta stated this today at the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada.
The parliamentarian also called on his colleagues to create a temporary investigative commission in parliament that would investigate the activities of the head of the National Bank.
“I appeal to us to consolidate the parliament, restore trust in the parliament, trust in the president, trust in the government. I propose to put two resolutions on the agenda this week, which will be registered today. One resolution is a petition to the president to dismiss Gontareva. And the second resolution is to create a temporary commission of inquiry,” said Sergei Taruta.
He emphasized that Valeria Gontareva does not respond to direct requests from deputies and avoids meetings of parliamentary committees.
“If she has nothing to hide, let her come and work with us with pleasure. But she doesn’t come to the committee, she ignores the experts, she ignores the public, the deputies. Therefore, we need to consolidate around this issue,” the politician concluded.
As reported, at the annual meeting of the IMF in Washington, Sergei Taruta distributed a brochure about the head of the National Bank, Valeria Gontareva, entitled “The Threat to the Economic Security of Ukraine.” According to Taruta, all the facts presented in the brochure are true and have been verified by the Association of Ukrainian Banks.
At the same time, the NBU demands that law enforcement agencies initiate a criminal case against Taruta for defamation.
