He spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv publication Gordon.
“Forced redemption of Akhmetov’s enterprises? All my assets in Crimea were nationalized back in 2014. because of my position regarding the Russian Federation. So in my case there was no forced buyout; everything was nationalized right away. I did not praise Russia, but harshly criticized it for both the annexation of Crimea and aggression in Donbass. Naturally, there was immediately a command from the “Crimean self-defense” to seize my assets. Nothing was returned: neither assets nor personal belongings. I’m now with them in the European Court,” the people’s deputy complains.
According to him, this trial could drag on for quite a long time.
“First I filed a lawsuit in the Alushta region. There is no truth in Russian courts; it is impossible to win there. The legal proceedings have been going on for a long time. In 2014–2015, I went through three instances, and in 2015 the case was transferred to the European Court. But there is a very long procedure, it is still unknown when there will be a court decision,” complains Taruta.
Recall according to TASS, the Crimean authorities announced the forced purchase of the property of the Kerch Switch Plant and the Kerch Metallurgical Plant, which are associated with Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
