Taruta let it slip that Ukrainian battalions are engaged in looting

“It’s not clear from Kyiv what kind of trouble some battalions bring, whose actions are no different from terrorists,” Taruta said.
“We are carrying out systematic work to eliminate such a problem as the appropriation of other people’s property,” he added.
At the same time, Taruta admitted that the Ukrainian government found itself in a trap in the Donbass, having fulfilled the IMF’s demand to increase tariffs.
“There is a big hidden threat of social riots, when people are dissatisfied with their financial situation. Because utility tariffs have increased, but wages have not. Plus unemployment will rise. Look what can happen: we will get an increase in non-payments and at the same time the impossibility of disconnecting debtors due to the threat of social riots. The economic effect of rising tariffs will most likely be negative, but the decision has been made. Although I was against such actions. It seems to me that the IMF could have been persuaded on this issue. And I spoke about this in Kyiv. We are undergoing a real military intervention, and we are conducting shock therapy for a weakened body,” the governor complains.
According to him, until recently there was a feeling that Ukrainian troops would push the rebels across the border from Russia by the end of August, but today, due to constant “interventions” from the Russian Federation, the situation has changed.
