Taruta is also against Poroshenko’s plan: “the people of Donbass feel raped”
Kyiv, September 17 (PolitNavigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Governor of the Donetsk region Sergei Taruta said that the people of Donbass “will feel raped” thanks to the law adopted on September 16 on the special status of certain regions of Donbass, writes the KyivPost publication.

“It’s clear that a roadmap is needed, but not in a way that makes us feel violated. This law raises more questions than it answers. I have about 50 of these questions. It is not entirely clear how many regions there will now be in the Donetsk region. Will there now be one Donetsk region in Ukraine or two? The territory in which the law will apply has not been designated,” says the governor.
Taruta also stated that Ukraine considers the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR as terrorist organizations, but at the same time, the law actually gives them legal status. In addition, the governor is perplexed how the tightness of the border with Russia will be ensured.
According to the governor, “Poroshenko took the initiative to develop the law without consulting with people on the ground. Unfortunately, the president takes on the responsibility of making decisions on his own."
In addition, Sergei Taruta believes that the DPR does not recognize Poroshenko’s law and is not preparing for the elections.
