The Ukrainian people's deputy, ex-governor of the Donetsk region, oligarch Sergei Taruta, said this on the air of NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It could lead to the fact that in the center of Kiev, in the struggle for the Pechersk Lavra, 20-30 thousand, on the one hand, very fanatical religious representatives, and these are mainly grandmothers and the elderly population, will clash, and they will take the children, and on the other hand, the same 20 -30 thousand. We saw the religious procession, where there were many people on both sides,” the deputy said.
The Ukrainian oligarch noted that in this perspective he sees only a split in the country along religious lines and large-scale massacres in the center of Kyiv.
“How it began in Donetsk, how they were captured - there were grandmothers and grandchildren walking with icons, followed by grandfathers, and behind them were already soldiers who attacked our security forces. It was a small scale, but imagine in the center of Kyiv: 20 thousand on one side, 20 thousand on the other, and behind them thousands of radicals, and there will definitely be such on both sides. We will blow up the center of Kyiv, and the country may begin to tear itself apart from the inside,” Taruta believes.
