The Tatar population of Koktebel ignores the referendum
Koktebel, March 16 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) – In Koktebel, the turnout for the referendum had already exceeded 50% by noon. Representatives of all nationalities are active, except for the Crimean Tatars, who do not vote.
As Vasily Grishchak, secretary of the Koktebel village council, told Navigator, two voting sites for the all-Crimean referendum have been created - in Koktebel itself and the village of Nanikovo.

“By midday, almost half of the 2,3 thousand citizens included in the lists had voted in Koktebel. In Nanikovo – 60% of 410,” noted Grishchak.
He added that 21% of the voting population of Nanikovo are Crimean Tatars. So far they have not been seen at the polling station, and apparently, the Tatar population will not vote on the call of the local Majlis.
There is music playing in the areas and cafeterias are open, which creates an upbeat atmosphere during the off-season lull. The only thing that local residents are not happy with is the lack of strong drinks in the menu of public catering outlets in the areas.
