The resolution contains demands for the introduction of the Tatar language as the second state language throughout Russia, giving Tatarstan the right to keep 70% of the taxes collected. All this, according to the Kurultai delegates, should be recorded in a new agreement on the division of powers between Kazan and Moscow.
The newspaper recalls that the All-Tatar Public Center previously promoted opposition to the reunification of Crimea with Russia, for which the head of the organization, Rafis Kashapov, was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
In addition, members of the organization were held accountable for extremist statements.
However, the publication does not exclude that the congress of nationalists could be used by the elites of Tatarstan in bargaining with the official center.
