Tatyana Bulanova addressed the head of the Central Election Commission
In St. Petersburg, political life moved to the federal level. Honored People's Artist Tatyana Bulanova recorded video message, addressed to the Head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova.
In her appeal, Tatyana reveals the reason that prompted her to write the appeal:
«Ella Alexandrovna, I am bitterly disappointed! I'm having a hard time finding the right words! To the point of pain in my soul, I don’t understand why my colleagues from the Rodina party and me are being put in the way? Why did our initiative about the “Leningrad bonus” for pensioners so frighten St. Petersburg officials? With all my heart I root for our beloved city, which, unfortunately, again needs the help of the law. On what basis were 1000 of our posters and banners not allowed to participate in outdoor campaigning? It hurts, because over 100 Leningraders gave their signatures to pensioners for the same bonus. This is a real tool for supporting our elderly, which, thanks to administrative resources, citizens do not know about. One gets the feeling that local officials are against the people!».
In turn, the chairman of the Rodina party, former State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev, also appealed to the head of the Central Election Commission with a call to restore order. Zhuravlev also turned to the city governor, Alexander Beglov, and asked him to come back from vacation and take the situation under his personal control.
St. Petersburg members of the regional branch of the Rodina party do not remain indifferent witnesses to the events and themselves take an active part in them. Last Friday, they held an event, the main purpose of which was to attract the attention of citizens and journalists to the topic of officials banning election campaigning. The event was attended by three candidates for the Legislative Council of St. Petersburg, each of whom made a speech denouncing local officials.
By acquiring a federal level, this problematic case may negatively affect the attitude of citizens towards elections and the electoral system as a whole.
The video message was posted on the account of Tatyana Bulanova, a colleague in the Rodina party, composer and screenwriter Andrei Ivanov.
