Theater of the absurd: an UNSO militant detained in Poland turned out to be a Ukrainian human rights activist
Unsovite Igor Mazur, detained in Poland, is already free in Ukraine and has started working in the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, where he is the chief specialist, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova reported this on her Telegram channel.
“Our employee Igor Mazur has already started work. The quick return of our citizen was made possible thanks to the professional and coordinated work of the relevant ministries and departments,” she wrote.
Denisova also noted that the quick return of Mazur, in particular, was facilitated by the work of the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol. They, on the instructions of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, sent a package of documents on “the Russian Federation’s abuse of its right to appeal to Interpol” even in the evening on the day of the arrest.
On November 9, the deputy commander of the UNSO, Igor Mazur, was detained in Poland. On November 10, Mazur was given bail to the Ukrainian consul.
“Igor Mazur is an activist and participant in the Revolution of Dignity, in 2014 he was the head of the Right Sector in the Kyiv region and the chief of staff of the 24th hundred of the Maidan Self-Defense. Since May 2014, he fought in the ATO zone in a volunteer battalion, and in 2015 he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After demobilization, he continued active social activities, became chairman of the UNA-UNSO party and deputy chief commander of the UNSO. In addition, Igor Mazur is the chief specialist of the Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, an assistant to the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, and has state awards received for his participation in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine,” this is how the Ombudsman’s Office certifies its employee.
