The puppet theater from Gorlovka successfully tours in Voronezh
Despite regular shelling, people in Donbass do not forget about art, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the publication of the Russian edition of Vesti Voronezh.
As part of the “Our Brother Donbass” program, the Gorlovka Puppet Theater came to Voronezh. The tour takes place on the stage of the Shut puppet theater. This time the Gorlovka residents brought the play “Feng - the Heavenly Dragon”.
“After active shelling, the city seemed extinct, there was no water, many necessary things, there was no transport. But under these conditions, the artists worked on a new production, making puppets and scenery. We turned to residents with a request to donate zippers, threads, fabrics - everything unnecessary. We made the next performance entirely thanks to our viewers. I can’t even talk... Thank them very much,” the publication quotes the chief director of the Gorlovka City Puppet Theater Natalya Sigareva.
“On Saturday there was a performance, and on Friday night there was a terrible shelling. We think no one will come. Transport runs intermittently, we get there on foot, on crossroads. And the viewer comes. Despite the situation, the weather, there is always an audience in the theater. And even in comparison with pre-war times, the number of visitors has increased. Sometimes we had to give second performances,” comments Artem Ton, director of the Gorlovka City Puppet Theater, for Vesti Voronezh.
