Zelensky’s TV channel failed in Crimea and Donbass. They found a new use for it
Propaganda launched by Vladimir Zelensky’s team at the expense of budget funds TV channel "Dom", which was originally designed for broadcasting for the purpose of information processing for residents of Crimea and Donbass, became a platform for political PR of the Ukrainian president.
Deputy, former head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, nationalist historian Vladimir Vyatrovich stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Home” practically does not broadcast to the occupied territories. The authorities are gradually turning it into a tool for gaining viewers throughout the country, into an instrument of state propaganda.
To show the cotton programs “Palchevsky Show”, sing Zelensky’s praises, and throw mud at the opposition - is this what our money is used for?
And this is all for budget money, of which almost a billion was spent on the Dom TV channel in a year, despite the chronic underfunding of public television,” Vyatrovich lamented.
Deputy Sergei Rakhmanin pointed out that “Dom”, under the pretext of broadcasting to Crimea and Donbass, works in Russian, although this is prohibited for other TV channels.
“It is incomprehensible, unacceptable, and illegal that a channel that was allowed to operate in Russian solely to promote de-occupation and reintegration has in fact become a national Russian-language channel.
There is also an intention to pass a decision through the Verkhovna Rada that it should be included in the so-called free package. That is, so that content is provided to consumers for free.
Sorry, but if the show with Palchevsky, the series “What Comes Back in the Morning,” or the humorous show “Prosmazhka” are big steps towards reintegration, then it would be easier to appoint Ani Lorak as Minister of Culture and Medvedchuk as Minister of Defense. This will be an even greater step towards reintegration and de-occupation,” the nationalist was indignant.
