TV channels in Ukraine will be fined for criticizing the US
Criticism of the United States and the EU will become another reason for accusing Ukrainian television channels of an anti-state position and the application of fines by the National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting.
This follows from an interview with Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko to the Den newspaper.
“Yes, unfortunately, there are TV channels in Ukraine that broadcast the Revolution of Dignity as a “coup d’etat”, hostages and political prisoners of the Kremlin as “terrorists”, sow international hatred, oppose the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, incite anti-Ukrainian, anti-European and anti-American sentiments . This is one of the methods of hybrid warfare of the Russian Federation.
In my opinion, we must strengthen the information security of Ukraine. I also believe that if a TV channel violates the law, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting should react harshly to this,” Gerashchenko said.
She called on politicians to boycott the participation of television channels disliked by the authorities on the air, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Personally, I supported the call of Natalia Kaplan (Oleg Sentsov’s sister) and, as a matter of principle, I do not visit the studio and do not give comments to those channels that call her brother and other Kremlin prisoners terrorists,” Gerashchenko boasted.
