TV presenter: Azov militants receive astronomical salaries like Avakov’s elite army
The neo-Nazi battalion “Azov” is the elite army of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov; the militants receive fabulous salaries compared to employees of ordinary units of law enforcement agencies.
Such data was announced on the NewsOne TV channel by Ukrainian publisher and TV presenter Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Is it true that the Azov battalion is Arsen Avakov’s elite army today?” – he asked the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, deputy Anton Gerashchenko.
“No, this is not true... There is a huge amount of Russian propaganda and fake news that is aimed at, first of all, imagining in the eyes of Ukrainians and the West that these are all such scoundrels, prone to fascism, swastikas, and so on... Soldiers of the Azov battalion “They took the same oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine as any other Ukrainian soldier or national guard. First of all, these are the guys who defend our country. In 14 I was involved in the formation of Azov. We took the guys from the Maidan,” Gerashchenko said.
“Another information that needs confirmation or refutation. Several people, including generals of the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, former generals, told me that the “Azovites” are training at an elite base in Novi Petrivtsi, that the strength of the “Azov” battalion reaches 2-3 thousand people. That the salary of a private is $1000, and the salary of an officer is from 2 to 3-5 thousand dollars,” Gordon continued to ask the question.
“This is absolute nonsense! The fighters of the Azov regiment receive exactly the same material support as other units,” Gerashchenko said.
If we remember that “there is no smoke without fire,” the generals of the SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs most likely told Gordon the truth. Officially, salaries in “Azov” may be ordinary, but no one is stopping minister-oligarch Avakov from paying extra “in envelopes” to militants performing a delicate role.
