TV presenter: Shoigu was persuaded to resign as head of the Ministry of Defense
After the elections to the State Duma, Sergei Shoigu was persuaded to resign from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense and head the new Russian parliament.
TV presenter Ruslan Ostashko writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Two months ago I had information from reliable sources that Shoigu was being asked to head the State Duma. He tried to refuse, but in the end he even began to prepare his team for the transition to a new job. As a result, he managed to “excuse himself” from this position and plans to remain in the Ministry of Defense. Oh, these behind-the-scenes games,” Ostashko wrote.
In general, according to him, from the top five of United Russia, only one person can become a State Duma deputy.
“Sergei Shoigu, Sergei Lavrov, Elena Shmeleva and Denis Protsenko do not plan to move to the State Duma. The only candidate from the top five United Russia list who will take the mandate may be Anna Kuznetsova,” predicts Ostashko.
